Young girls celebrate at last year's Black Girl Magic Conference.

The 7th annual Black Girl Magic Conference is set to return to Madison College’s Truax Campus on Thursday, May 23. This empowering event is a day full of networking opportunities and engaging workshops led by esteemed local Black leaders.

Black Girl Magic Educational Services is a Black women-led non-profit organization that, according to its mission, provides opportunities for Black girls by “empowering them to let their natural gifts shine, cultivating leadership skills while centering youth voice in decision-making, and forming a safe and affirming community where girls can authentically and unapologetically be themselves.”

“We are thrilled to welcome over 650 girls under one roof, providing them with a platform to connect, learn, and be inspired by women who mirror their own aspirations,” said Rosa Thompson, founder of the Black Girl Magic Conference, in a statement. “This day is poised to leave an unforgettable mark on these exceptional young women, nurturing their growth in every facet.”

Since its inception in 2018, the Black Girl Magic Conference has reached over 1,000 Black girls across Wisconsin, both in-person and virtually. This year’s keynote speaker will be K-Love Poet, an internationally acclaimed touring poet, speaker, and author.
